I like to think that i'm above mere material possessions.... my plastic-oh-so-fantastic ikea bookcase begs to differ

But i enjoy telling myself such blatant false-truths to muster up the enthusiasm to scrap together pennies for an impeding year of backpacking. However The Duffle from the collection "Concerning the Wee People" made me stop in my tracks and reconsider my plans

Do i REALLY want to eat cheese in Amsterdam? Do i REALLY want to eat risotto again at the River Cottage Canteen? Do i REALLY want another Sally Lunn Bun?

The answer is yes...well after a few minutes of dreaming about soft buttery leather and tasty tapestry

Michelle Obama makes it look elegant - i on the other hand just get my bum dirty fossicking through soil trying to figure out what's a weed and what's not

What has brought on this sudden urge to garden? The local council has announced that it's bringing back the annual gardening competition. The theme of the competition is sustainable gardening - as an avid fan of River Cottage - i decide that perhaps i should actually attempt to practice what i preach about local produce and attempt to overhaul the garden into a living breathing kitchen...and perhaps kick the neighbourhood's butt

So Mr Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall will reign king as a reference point in the upcoming months
