When did Adidas become the bee's knees? I know Stella helped kick start the evolution from sloppy sweatshirts, but the latest Adidas SLVR range made me gasp with delight - it is perfectly pared back comfort in chic cuts.

I think I need to lock up my purse.

Community service announcement

Boy oh boy it was a scorcher today! It hit a sweltering 32 degrees, which is usually quite pleasant - but the hot, dry wind bustling through the streets, caused a wicked sense of malaise.

For those rugged up in mittens and ear muffs at the moment - today's weather would be the equivalent of this picture of Mr Patrick Swayze.

Misfitted valentine

I've just finished watching the first two seasons of Misfits. I haven't been this excited about a television show since Community...or Mad Men... or Better off Ted...or The Wire...or Weeds...okay so I watch a lot of telly then.

I watched Blue Valentine last night - the film is an unrelentingly emotional rollarcoaster - it is not advised to go on a roller coaster after eating a family lebanese banquet for lunch followed by a Korean BBQ banquet for dinner.

I felt a little queasy during the scenes of domestic turmoil. But I think that could have been the brilliant acting and not the excessive baba ganoush.

MONA

Even more so with MONA opening on january 22nd.

The Museum of Old and New Art is the love child of David Walsh. Self described as a "rich wanker" - an article in The Age was a tad bit more descriptive of the self made millionaire - "infuriating, exhausting, relentless, challenging, eccentric, odd, candid, complex, pedantic, hyper-critical and highly entertaining".

Valued at $80 million - the "un-musuem" is Australia's biggest private art collection. Built like a fortress MONA is craved into the sandstone cliffs of Berriedale Peninsula and has the equivalent floorspace of GOMA.

As you wander through the labyrinth you may stumble upon ancient Egyptian Mummies, or be repulsed by Cloaca Professional ("by the Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, is a machine that mimics the human digestive system, producing excrement at regular intervals") or for $75,000 get cremated.

And the best thing about this 'adult Disneyland' it has the low, low admission price of zero dollars. Nice.

I've just stumbled across these lovely images on Freckle Farm - they were created by French duo AA-JE.

I'm very tempted to seed bomb my laundry basket.

1920's

Mish and I both scored the day off work, so we hit the highway for the ramblin' Mountains.

With tree lined streets and flowers blossoming over picket fences, it's no wonder that Leura is known as the Garden Village.

Though we're both broke, we both managed to convince ourselves that we needed to buy a dress - Mish nabbed a lovely 1950's summer dress and I bought 1970's maxi dress (it's a practical travel piece...right?).

After lunch we hot footed it out of Leura before we spent any more moola. In Wentworth Falls we spotted these gorgeous art deco tiles.

A couple of posters advertising the upcoming 1920's festival also caught our attention. To say I'm peachy keen is a bit of an understatement. I've been dreaming about flapping about the place since seeing The Sartorialist's pictures of New York's Jazz-Age Lawn Party.

Luxury...

It can be sinking into the understated sexiness of SYKES camel cashmere hoody.

It can be staying a weekend surrounded by gold gilded walls and acres of manicured lawns.

It can be curling up on your living room floor and listening to music.
