I managed to catch the first instalment of Sarah Beeny's Country House Restoration program.

She bought the 200 year old house for £450,000. Sodden to the core, riddled with rot and structurally compromised, the 200 year old House was downtrodden to say the least.

I won't be able to see the next two parts of the series as it's already been broadcasted in the UK - so I snuck a peak of what the house looks like now and my heart swelled. It's stunning! Sure it would have been a harrowing experience of restoring a country estate, but it seems like a tempting prospect, just so I could swan around like Elizabeth Bennet... after all the paint cans and scaffolding had been packed away of course.

Planted

I've just stumbled across these lovely images on Freckle Farm - they were created by French duo AA-JE.

I'm very tempted to seed bomb my laundry basket.

Green thumb, dirty bum

Michelle Obama makes it look elegant - i on the other hand just get my bum dirty fossicking through soil trying to figure out what's a weed and what's not

What has brought on this sudden urge to garden? The local council has announced that it's bringing back the annual gardening competition. The theme of the competition is sustainable gardening - as an avid fan of River Cottage - i decide that perhaps i should actually attempt to practice what i preach about local produce and attempt to overhaul the garden into a living breathing kitchen...and perhaps kick the neighbourhood's butt

So Mr Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall will reign king as a reference point in the upcoming months
