Punk Porcelain

I am partial to collecting pieces of fine china. Mismatching cups and saucers with tarnished gold rims and dusty old lady floral prints, from The Salvos.

I don’t own any porcelain with a Sex Pistols attitude. Plates which are slightly mouthy, but disarmingly charming. Saucers which flash a bit of leg and demand seconds. Perfect partners for an afternoon tea.

Food Safari

[Suitcase to suit]

I spent a lot of time thinking about travelling yesterday. My head swum in visions of:

Munching on buttery crumpets in Hampstead Heath.

Ladling curry with Roti Chanai in Kuala Lumpur.

Sinking my teeth into the secret inner sanctum of a Zhong dumpling in China.

Dismantling platters if Palak Paneer in India.

Exhausting my jaws with serves of Sindhi Biryani in Pakistan.

Needless to say, working as an Electoral Official is extremely dull (and hungry) work, but it inspires the most vivid daydreams. However I was grateful when the seventeen hour shift was over.

Controlling clouds

Cloud Control are packing up their guitars, soaring harmonies, drums, ambient synths and folk sensibilities, for the blustery Britain.

I feel like a lovesick teenager, harping over a lost love and pondering deep meaningful thoughts about how to pull off a pensive (yet alluring) pose. Tricky stuff.

Why must you leave the Blue Mountains Cloud Control??

At least they're setting sail in style and not sneaking off with their tail between their legs.

They're throwing a going away shindig - "incorporating bands, DJ's, arts and video over multiple stages inside and outdoors" at The Factory Theatre.

Sounds like an opportunity to re-inact "Pretty in Pink". Perhaps along with my dancing shoes, I'll wear my heart on my shelve and declare my love for Cloud Control during the 'end of school dance'?
