Hands on Vogue

This past week I've been swimming in the glossy afterglow of magazines. I don't usually splurge on magazines, but my wallet practically jumping out of my handbag, every time I pass a newsagency. Perhaps it's because I've got ample time on my hands? Perhaps because it's a damn fine company when having a cuppa?

This hand-stitched Vogue cover caught my eye and make my eyes twitch in delight. It was created by the nimble fingers of Inge Jacobsen.

I have a new pair of glasses. I finally coughed up the pennies to replace my old scratched, headache inducing glasses.

I was in a bit of pickle when choosing the frames, I didn't have my contacts in (silly to wear them to an eye test), so I was ambling around in a hazy blur. I'm indecisive at the best of times, so I took ages, by the end of it I was fed up, hungry and bemused to how it's taken me 23 years to discover my 'unusual face shape'. [It didn't help that it everything appeared to be smeared in vaseline].

When I finally picked a pair, the girl behind the counter asked me five times in the space of the two minute transaction "are you sure you want these frames?" She even pulled me back to the racks and demanded I try on another couple of pairs. This was belittling to say the least, but I politely declined her input through gritted teeth and bought the frames.

Two weeks later they arrived and I am a happy little Platypus.

Toast

The name of the label should have set off warning bells in my mind. Toast - like it’s carbohydrate laden namesake - is tasty, addictive and probably not the healthiest option.

Example – this headscarf is divine, but it costs a cool £45. Ouch.

Their catalogue is like bread and butter pudding – saturated in so much deliciousness, it makes your heart ache but you can't help but scoff a second, third..and maybe fourth helping. Yum.

Yup I'm lacing up my dancing shoes and catching the tail end of the triple rainbow tour - it's going to be sweeter than that tub of neapolitan ice cream.
